The newly crowned Norwegian National champions Eikanger-Bjorsvik will be playing host to the largest music competition in Norway this month.
The band will be in charge of the 'Hordablæsten' — the largest music competition for school and youth bands, ensembles and soloists in the country, with a dizzying 286 soloists, 82 ensembles, 196 beginners and a total of 60 bands taking part!
Iconic venue
The event that is held at the iconic Grieghallen, venue for the Norwegian National Championships just a few weeks ago, as well as the Bergen School of Arts and the St. Paul School.
Eikanger's contribution will also see them perform at the closing Gala Concert, where they will play with trumpet soloist Jan Magne Førde from the Brazz Bros group.

Born to play
Both Eikanger and Jan Magne Førde are 'Born to Play' ambassadors for the Norwegian Band Federation (NMF), which sees top musicians help to provide a better future for Norwegian banding.
Eikanger-Bjørsvik players and supporters will provide the event with everything from judges, hosts, stage personnel and even doormen in addition to help teaching the nearly 200 beginners that will come to take part in the event.
