The Uppermill Band is looking forward to the challenge of the First Section, after gaining promotion following their fourth place finish at the North West Area contest in Blackpool.
Major honours
Chairman John Ward told 4BR: "Although we were disappointed not to have qualified for Cheltenham, we know we are performing at a level that should see battle for major honours this season."
The band has progressed far under the direction of MD Alan Widdop, and the latest promotion is their third in just six years under his command. He has also led the band to three Pontins titles.
