Death of Govan stalwart

The death has been announced of Bandmaster Malcolm Cassidy

Govan Citadel Band has informed 4BR of the death of retired Bandsman and Deputy Bandmaster Malcolm Cassidy.

Greatly missed

Band Secretary, Colin McFarlane to 4BR: "Malcolm was a member of the band for over 50 years, and played a number of instruments, but most notably G Trombone — complete with slide handle! Malcolm also arranged a number of items for the band, and travelled extensively both within the UK and overseas."

Dry wit

He added: "Malcolm had suffered from ill health for some time, but maintained his dry wit and continued to support and encourage the Band. We think of his wife Anza, son Ken and daughter Carol. He will be greatly missed."
