Yorkshire Imperial Urquhart Travel Band has announced the signing of three new players and the return of an old friend ahed of their assault on the First Section Yorkshire Area title at Bradford next week.
Cornet strength
Strengthening the front row is Jason Barlow, who joins from Carlton Main Frickley Colliery, whilst Neal McNulty, an ex Imps player returns on repiano cornet from Mossley.
Also from Mossley comes Sue Howard on third cornet and son James on percussion who becomes the band’s youngest member at just 12 years of age.
Spokesperson Jessica Martin told 4BR: "These signings have added to the strong foundations of the band and will most definitely be beneficial to our continuous quest to improve and achieve success in 2012."

Open rehearsal
The band will also be holding an Open rehearsal on Thursday 1st March at 7.45pm in readiness for their performance at the Yorkshire Area.
The rehearsal will take place at Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College on Storrs Hill Road, Ossett, Wakefield, WF5 0DG, where the band will rehearse and perform ‘Mountain Views’.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
