Police gain help with their Mountain enquiries

South Yorkshire Police get a helping hand with their enquiries ahead of Bradford.

South Yorkshire Police Band recently lined up some banding stars to assist in their preparation for the forthcoming Yorkshire Regional Championship.

Musical mountaineers

A very experienced team of musical mountaineers helped the band in their preperation for the First Section set work, 'Mountain Views' ahead of their assault at St George's Hall.

Rob Westacott, Mark Walters, Mike Kilroy, John Ingman and James Brincat Smith worked with sections of the band to help them acclimatise to the challenge ahead.

Benefit

MD Leigh Baker told 4BR: "To benefit from the expertise of these great players really inspired the band. Huge strides were made during the afternoon and the full band rehearsal that followed the sectionals, showed real potential."

New signings

The band also announced that two new players have joined the ranks.

Claire Jenkins joins on soprano cornet whilst Claire Westacott takes the flugel chair in time for the Bradford contest.

Leigh added: "These two high quality signings further strengthen our line up for the 2012 season."
