News has reached the UK that Bandmaster Fred Gott (retired) passed away on Saturday 18th February.

Although his son Barrie Gott is probably more well known to readers of 4BR, Fred had been a well known Bandmaster in Salvation Army banding for many years.

Emigrated

He was Bandmaster of the Sheffield Citadel Band prior to emigrating to Australia with his family, and quickly became involved in SA banding as Bandmaster of the Petersham Band in Sydney and later as the Bandmaster of the Parramata Citadel Band.

Funeral

The funeral service will take place at Parramata Citadel on Friday 24th February.
