Stavanger seek new MD after Larson departure

The Stavanger Band will be looking for a new resident MD when three years of Larson benefit comes to an end.

Stavanger

The Stavanger Band has informed 4BR that its three year association with resident Musical Director Jacob Vilhlem Larson will come to an end later this year.

Beneficial

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We have enjoyed three excellent years together which has been very beneficial to both parties. Jacob has been an integral part of returning Stavanger back to the forefront of Norwegian banding and he leaves with our gratitude and best wishes for the future."

High profile

Jacob will continue to work with the band as they prepare for two high profile performances in the next few months.

In April, he will lead the band in their 30th anniversary celebrations whilst they play a central part in the ‘Mai Jazz’ festival which takes place in and around the new Stavanger concert hall.

Stavanger has so much to offer both as a band and as a city, with the new resident working closely with our professional musical director Allan WithingtonStavanger Band
