This Easter Course of the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain will be conducted by Dr Robert Childs with David Childs as the featured soloist.
Delighted
Kit Shepperd, Orchestral Administrator told 4BR that she was delighted that the duo had accepted the invitation to work with the orchestra.
Thrilled
Bob Childs was also delighted at the opportunity to conduct a very different musical ensemble to that of the brass band: "I'm thrilled to be invited to be the guest conductor and particularly looking forward to working with David on Johan de Meij's'UFO Concerto' in this setting."
Other works to be featured will be Peter Graham's 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' and Kenneth Hesketh's 'Danceries'.

UFO experience
Meanwhile, David is also looking forward to the experience: "I recently given the World Premiere of 'UFO' with Cory at RNCM Festival of Brass, but I imagine the performance with wind orchestra will be quite different.
The balance between soloist and wind orchestra should be easier and I guess there will be more opportunities to explore texture and tonality too. I'm pleased my Dad is conducting, it will make life a lot easier for me!"
End of courses concerts will take place in Banbury and Royal Academy of Music on 14th and 15th April.
