Miner's hymn
Stan told 4BR: "In the run up to the Grimethorpe reunion concert on the Sunday night at Butlins I invited players to bring along their instruments to join in with the playing of the hymn tune ‘Gresford’ – the miner’s hymn."
The response was fantastic and I am very pleased with the amount of money raisedStan Lippeatt
Fantastic response
He added: "For a donation of £5 they received a copy of the music, a sticker for their instrument case saying, 'I played with Grimethorpe' and the privilege of playing along with the band. The response was fantastic and I am very pleased with the amount of money raised."
Within this figure was included a donation from the Wynford Thomas Funeral Directors, Swansea & West Wales Region.
