Poole Borough Band has announced the appointment of Phil Wood as their new Musical Director.

Guardsman

The former Coldstream Guards musician completed a Masters degree in performance and was accepted to attend the prestigious Bandmaster Course at the Royal Military School of Music, where he went on to win the Silver Medal from the Worshipful Company of Musicians as the best overall Student Bandmaster.

First class

In August 2011, he received a First Class Honours degree from Kingston University before moving to Dorset where he currently holds the post of bandmaster with the Light Cavalry Band.
