Bands from all over the country are making their way to in Skegness for the contest that marks the beginning of the 2012 contesting season – the Butlins Mineworkers Championship.

There is plenty to look forward to despite the chilly weather, as close on 100 bands battle it out for the various titles and the generous cash prizes on offer – including a possible £8,000 pay out for the band that wins the two legged Championship Section event.
