An ensemble of player from the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland recently performed at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh as part of the first anniversary celebrations of Creative Scotland.

Commission

To mark the occasion, talented bass trombonist, Josiah Walters, was commissioned to compose a special fanfare ‘Flying High’, which offered an impressive start to the event, with the remainder of the programme including Alan Fernie’s arrangement of ‘Five Elizabethan Dances’ and a collection of seasonal favourites.

Audience

Amongst the enthusiastic audience, Andrew Duncan and George Burt of The Scottish Brass Band Association, and Neil Cross, Director of NYBBS were delighted to attend this landmark occasion as representatives of the relative organisations.

The organisation has been instrumental in supporting the development work of SBBA, so it was very fitting that we were able to offer the services of a NYBBS Brass Ensemble to entertain everyone on this special occasionAndy Duncan

Celebration
