Brindle leaves Dyke

Work commitments sees Black Dyke's baritone star Gareth Brindle call it a day.

Black Dyke

4BR has been informed that one of the banding world’s leading baritone players has decided to call time on his playing career with Black Dyke.

Work

Due to increasing work commitments, Gareth Brindle has reluctantly called time with the English National champion.

"Gareth is a fantastic bandsman, and his lyrical and dynamic qualities as a player were simply outstanding" said Black Dyke Director of Music, Dr Nicholas Childs.

Great experience

Gareth added: "Being at Black Dyke has been a great experience and one that I shall never forget.

To play a very small part in the history of this great band has been such a privilege and I would like to thank Nick, the players, the back room staff and of course my family for all their support over the years."
