Hayes targeted for Kill Day

Cornet star Jim Hayes will be lining up a 'Kill Day' on his latest CD release.

Hayes

Composer, James McFadyen is to write three new works for Jim Hayes forthcoming solo CD.

Partnership

The McFadyen/Hayes partnership began in 2008, when James was commissioned to write ‘Blue Mars’, first broadcast by Jim with the Reg Vardy Band on ‘Listen to the Band’ in 2009 and later recorded on his debut album ‘Dial M for Midnight’.

His open-minded approach and his want for repertoire that is fresh and original is very welcomingJames McFadyen

Kill Day

James told 4BR: "Working with artists as talented as Jim is a dream a lot of composers never get to realise. His open-minded approach and his want for repertoire that is fresh and original is very welcoming!"

‘Kill Day’, and a unique arrangement of Faure's ‘Pavane’ will be two of the new works on Jim's new CD with a third work being kept a secret for now.

Feedback

James added: "I received so much great feedback about the two works on the first CD and look forward to the challenges, hard work and headaches that lie ahead writing the new material."
