Elland Silver Training Band will be hoping to attract a new generation of young players to their ranks with an Open Evening next month aimed at children aged 7 and upwards.

Elland’s Sam Harrison told 4BR: "We want to show children how to produce a sound as well as try out an instrument – and have fun too."

Sam will rehearse the training band and present a masterclass to explain to parents and children the different instruments and sounds.

"It’s amazing how much children improve once they start coming to the band, they develop and meet new friends," Sam added.
