New hive of activity at Lofthouse B

Jamie Highton has taken over the reins at the Lofthouse B Band.

Lofthouse B Band have announced that Jamie Highton will take over the conducting reins at the band.

Wealth of experience

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Jamie has previously played with Valley Brass and Denham Hendon and currently plays solo cornet with Lofthouse Brass Band. He brings an excellent wealth of knowledge and experience to the band and everyone is looking forward to working with him."

Strength to strength

Jamie told 4BR: "Since taking up the baton in July the B Band has gone from strength to strength and now a strong group of 9 regular players meet on a Thursday evening."

Progress

He added: "The excellent progress made in such a short amount of time is very encouraging and the band has now mastered some quite difficult pieces, which they are looking forward to performing at the fourthcoming New Year Concert."
