The Pontardulais Band has been presented with the prestigious WS Gwynn Williams Cultural Award.

Pontardulais Town Band has been presented with the prestigious WS Gwynn Williams Award 2011 from Welsh Arts organisation Ty Cerdd.

The presentation to Band President John Maclean was made by Director of Ty Cerdd, Robert Nicholls. In his address Robert congratulated MD Paul Jenkins along with committee and players for their contribution to Welsh Music over the past two years.

In return, Band Chairman thanked the organisation for their work supporting Welsh brass bands through their invaluable assistance with music and instrument purchases.

Fine 2011

Pontardulais has enjoyed a fine 2011 season after their recent top six finish at the National Finals in Cheltenham in the First Section and after coming runner up in the Championship Section League of Wales Contest in Burry Port.

Recent signings include Mathew Jenkins, Alex Salter, Owain Evan, Terry Davies and Kiran Jones.
