Cowes Concert Band’s 60th anniversary has proved one of the band’s most successful years to date.
Boosted
Since the start of the year the Isle of Wight band has been boosted by seven new recruits and has raised more than £2,000 in a campaign to raise funds for new instruments.
The cornet section has been swelled by four new players and members have also been recruited on tenor horn, bass trombone and Eb bass. The funds for much-needed new instruments have mainly come from successful grant applications to local businesses.
