4BR has been informed of the resignation of Kevin Darby as principal cornet of the Woodfalls Band.
Difficult
Kevin told 4BR: "I’ve taken the decision to resign as principal cornet with the band. It’s been a difficult one to make, but I have been finding the travelling really tough and it’s become increasingly difficult for me to strike a happy balance between band, family and work commitments."
Kevin has led the band with distinction and has played an integral part in their increasing contest and concert successes in recent years, including victory at the West of England Regional Championships and Yeovil Entertainment Contest this year.
His last contest appearance was with the band on stage at the National Finals at London.

Thanks
He added: "I have enjoyed my time at Woodfalls very much and appreciate all the hard work that Nick (Childs) and Gareth (Pritchard) have done with the band.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Brian Easterbrook and to everyone in the band for their friendship and support over the last few years and would like to wish them every success for the future."
