Trio to enjoy Regency period

A trio of new faces are set to enjoy an extended stay with Regent Brass.

Regent Brass has announced the signings from around the banding world ahead of their debut appearance at the Scottish Open next month.

Experience

Joining on principal euphonium is the experienced John Gafney, who has played in the end chair with bands such as Luton and Welwyn Garden City, and most recently with Ware Brass.

Japan, Scotland & New Zealand

Meanwhile, the solo trombone seat is filled by Tetsuro Okamura from Japan. Tetsuro is a graduate of the Osaka College of Music and is currently studying in London with Denis Wick.

Joining on second cornet is Natasha Newson who has recently moved to London from Scotland and has formerly played with bands such as Barrhead and Kirkintilloch.

Finally, Adrian Raven comes in on Bb Bass. Adrian has recently returned to the UK after many years playing with top ensembles in New Zealand.

Exciting times

MD Alan Duguid told 4BR: "These are really exciting times for the band with a growing concert schedule and some exciting projects in the pipeline. These players have slotted in wonderfully and have added a real touch of class, which is very exciting in terms of our development."
