Results: LBBA Autumn Solo Contest

There was a fantastic line up of players and supporters at the recent Leicestershire BBA Solo Contest.

LBBA

There was a huge line up of players accompanied by just as many supporters at the Groby Community College for the Leicestershire Brass Band Association Solo, Duet & Quartet competition recently.

Impress

The performers had to impress adjudicator’s Trevor Groom, Garry Sleath and Huw Thomas, and the organising committee were delighted to see such an impressive turnout from local bands, all of which were members of the association.

Following on from their recent successes in Cheltenham, Leicestershire Cooperative (Snibston) collected a fine array of silverware, with one of their youngest entrants, Harry Lear, picking up the Junior Champion award for best overall performances across the different sections.

The Association would like to congratulate all of the winners, and particularly those taking part in their first contestLBBA

Memory

Harry collected the newly commissioned ‘Harry Bray Memorial Trophy’, in dedication and memory of the man who founded the association’s solo contests, which continue to thrive today.

Harry sadly passed away earlier this year and his family were in attendance to proudly present the award to the newly crowned overall junior champion.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The Association would like to congratulate all of the winners, and particularly those taking part in their first contest."
