The talented Michael Bach will be heading to Leyland for 2012 as their new pro.

The Leyland Band has announced the appointment of Michael Bach as their new professional conductor.

Talented

The talented Swiss musician has recently been seen in action leading Hepworth and Whitburn at the British Open and National Finals respectively.

Principal cornet John Doyle commented to 4BR: "The band is delighted to announce Michael’s appointment. He is a young talent with a musical portfolio that is growing all the time. Leyland has always prided itself on employing innovative and ambitious conductors and Michael encapsulates these traits."

Outstanding

He added: "His outstanding results with Brass Band Burgermusik Luzern, as well as recommendations from the wider banding community have left us in no doubt that he is our man."

Delighted

Meanwhile, Michael added: "I’m obviously delighted to accept the post with such a fine band. I’m also excited about leading Leyland’s contesting schedule for the foreseeable future and look forward to working with this young and talented ensemble."

Michael will make his debut with Leyland at the North West Regional Championships next year.
