Reg Vardy take the Geneva option

Geneva

The entire front row of the Grand Shield and North of England Area champions Reg Vardy have opted to play on Geneva cornets — all in time for their assault on the National Championship title at the Royal Albert Hall next weekend.

Simple reason

And the reason is quite simple, according to the band's Principal Cornet, Tina Mortimer: "Geneva provides a superb and unique instrument, made in Britain to a players own requirements and with a lifetime guarantee. That's why I chose Geneva and that's why we have opted to go with Geneva for our front row team."

Solo cornet Mike Lumsdon added: "I wanted a cornet that improved on the old round stamp Sovereign I used to play. With its perfect warm cornet sound throughout the full cornet range, this is what I get with the Geneva Symphony instrument."

Albert Hall debut

Fellow cornet bench members Graeme Tindall and Mark Sidwell agree and so the entire Reg Vardy front bench will be seen and heard in action playing bespoke, British made Geneva cornets — and at the Royal Albert Hall too.

They added: "These are great instruments — we each have a Geneva with its own look and feel. Uniquely tailored to our own wishes and aesthetics. We can't wait to try them out in contest action!
