Goff Richards Fund launched

The Goff Richards Memorial Fund has been launched with a musical boost in Cornwall.

The Goff Richards Memorial Fund has been launched at a concert in his home village of St Minver in North Cornwall.

Assist

Organised by his family, the fund will assist young musicians to further their musical skills and ambitions by making available grants to pay help for lessons, courses or any other musical activity, which will help them develop their talent.

The concert given by St Minver Silver Band, of which Goff was a member in his youth, accompanied by the Holman Climax Male Voice Choir, of which Goff was President, and raised over £1,000.

Future events

Future events are be held to aid the fund including a concert later this mont at Truro Cathedral, featuring Camborne, Mount Charles, St Austell and St Dennis bands as well as the vocal talents of a number of leading Cornish choirs.

Wellington Silver Band (Somerset)

May 2 • Bb Basses. With Colin Dance now appointed as our MD and our other Bb Bass leaving due to work commitments, we have openings for two Bb basses. We are a friendly community (4th section?) band with a variety of gigs including our own Proms in the Park.

Tintwistle Band

April 28 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a Soprano and front row cornet players to help complete our team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
