4BR has been informed that the decision to ban Wrexham Brass (Glyndwr) and their conductor Wayne Ruston from the Welsh Regional Championships for one and two years respectively have been upheld following an independent appeals panel meeting held at Cheltenham on the weekend.

An independent panel has upheld the decision of the Welsh Regional Council to penalise Wrexham Brass (Glyndwr) and its conductor, Wayne Ruston, following incidents that took place after the announcement of results of the Welsh regional qualifying contest in March.
The band is excluded from entering the National Championships in 2012 and its conductor [Wayne Ruston] is excluded from the National Championships in 2012 and 2013.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Regional Council said that it was satisfied with the result of the appeal, although regretted that it had been necessary to take this action against a band.
The spokesperson said: "This decision has made it clear that dissent and bad behaviour at our contest will not be tolerated."
