It proved to be a fine weekend of contesting work and entertainment for Blidworth Welfare Band at the Bolsover Festival of Brass.

Not only were players celebrating a victory in the Second Section under the baton of Martin Heartfield, but they also provided the musical entertainment for over 200 diners at the evening’s ‘Reunion’ Dinner.

Delighted

Band Manager Karen Cretney told 4BR: "The band were delighted to participate in the event, particularly as it was in aid of such a worthwhile cause as Breast Cancer. The players were also thrilled to be playing to such a star studded audience."
