Hayes looking for manual help...

Cornet star Jim Hayes is looking for a bit of manual help for his follow up recording to Dial M for Midnight...

Cornet star Jim Hayes has announced that following the success of his debut CD release ‘Dial M for Midnight’ he is now working hard on the follow up – ‘A Second from Midnight’.

Innovative approach

Jim is also looking to follow on from his innovative approach on the first release, by asking composers to write works for the new recording.

He told 4BR: "Getting young composer’s to write solos proved to be a great idea with ‘Dial M for Midnight’ and I am hoping that the new CD will encourage more young talent to put pen to paper."

Feature

The CD will feature Jim accompanied by the Co-operative Funeralcare Band conducted by Michael Fowles, and he has revealed that he has already secured the services of Tredegar’s Composer in Residence, Matt Hall to write the title track for him once again.

"Matt is such a talent that I knew he was the right person for the job again," he said. "His compositions are brilliant – from his prize winning ‘Legends of Cyfarthfa’ at Brass in Concert to the title track of the last release."
