It seems we were not devious enough with our first British Open puzzler – with a huge response to our question of what connects a Philip Wilby test piece to a famous Bolton Wanderers centre forward and Leonard Rossiter’s cat in a comedy sitcom?
Tuesday answer
The answer of course was ‘Vienna’ – as in ‘Vienna Nights’ by Philip Wilby, ‘The Lion of Vienna’ Nat Lofthouse, who earned the nickname after scoring in a win against Austria in 1952 in the city, and ‘Goodnight Vienna’, which was Rigsby’s famous quip each time he kicked his cat of the same name, out for the night.
The lucky winner was Dan Knott.
