My guest on this week's programme is an example of the way in which musical education has flourished in the Isle of Man.
With no fewer than nine bands (eleven if you count junior groups performing independently of their elders) and consistent support from the Department of Education's Music Service, opportunities for young people to further their musical ambitions could hardly be better.
John Callister developed his capabilities, through both these strands of opportunity, with his local band, Rushen Silver, and through systematic tuition by Music Service teachers which led to membership
of various genres of musical groups playing to consistently high standards.
GCSE and A Level music led to graduation at the Royal Northern College and — well why not hear the rest this week on 'Time for Brass'?
