Blidworth Welfare Band has played a proud role in helping to raise over £1,000 for Breast Cancer at a recent Pink Proms’ event.
Concert
Performing to a capacity audience at the newly built local John Fretwell Complex, the band gave a two hour concert to civic dignitaries and local business leaders who are all heavily involved in fund raising for breast cancer.
The band performed a programme of light music, directed by MD Martin Heartfield who also managed to ‘persuade’ the audience to bid against each other in an auction of items raising over £1,000 for the charity4BR

This was the bands final concert before the summer break and gives the players a well-earned rest before a hectic start to the autumn concert and contest season, which sees the band celebrate its 30th anniversary in September.
