Foden's release contest details

The new Foden's Solo & Quartet contest will have plenty of great prizes up for grabs — and some nice grub too!

Foden’s Band has announced the final details of their inaugural Solo and Quartet Competition, which will be held on Saturday 8th October.

Generous

Through generous sponsorship from Buffet Crampon (Besson), Audi (Macclesfield), Glyn Williams Musical Instruments and other partners there will be fantastic prizes on offer in all classes.

The day consists of Slow Melody, Air Varie/Brilliante, Duet and Quartet classes, and will be adjudicated by Besson artists, including Dr. Roger Webster.

Trophies and certificates will be awarded for each class, with generous bursaries also available. Piano accompanists are available for solo classes as required.

Classes:
Slow Melody: 11 and under; 12-16 and Open
Air Varie/Brilliante: Under 16; 16-18 and Open
Duet: 16 and under and Open
Quartet: 16 and Under; Open and a Fun Class!

Excellent facilities are on offer at Sandbach Boys School to ensure everyone has a great day. Audi of Macclesfield is providing a corporate hospitality suite, and this will have some of the latest cars on show as well as providing a celebrity chef to conjure up some tasty treats for visitors.

Proceeds

Refreshments will also be on sale throughout the day, with proceeds going towards the Countess of Chester Hospital ‘Relative Comfort’ appeal.

Various trade stands will also be on site throughout the day, so players will have the opportunity to buy sheet music, instruments, Foden’s merchandise, music stands, etc.

Solo spotlight

To round off the day, Foden’s Band with guest soloist Roger Webster will give a concert in the evening and, where possible, some of the winning soloists from the competition will be given the opportunity to perform.
