Andrew Holland will be smoothly guiding Silk Brass through their paces over the next 12 months in the absence of their current MD Jim Cant, who is currently recovering from an illness.

Prize winner

Brian Taylor and John Hudson as well as Prof. David King and the late David James OBE taught the former Salford University graduate cornet, whilst in his final year, he won the University's conducting prize and became MD of Burnage Band.

Andrew has helped Chapeltown Band to gain Championship Section status, as well conducting Broxburn & Livingston, Eccles Borough Band and the Salford Youth Training Band.

Andrew took us to the recent Whit Friday Contests where we had considerable success, finishing 7th overall in the Tameside Area. We are looking forward to a successful working relationship with himBob Goodwin
