The Shepherd Group Band have ventured into the world of pop by recording a track with Alistair Griffin, who first became famous through his appearances on the BBC television show Fame Academy 2 in 2003.
Just Drive
For the past four years, the York based singer-songwriter has had new songs burning a hole in his pocket, before thanks to ‘Just Drive’, a song which sound-tracked the BBC’s Formula 1 montage at the end of the 2010 season hit the headlines.
Radio DJ, Chris Evans declared himself a major fan and played it on his Radio 2 Breakfast Show and as a result the single charted in the Top 40.

Exclusive version
Alistair and the York based band have recorded an exclusive version of ‘Just Drive’ (Where There’s Muck There’s Brass), available on iTunes with the proceeds going to the Marie Curie charity.
Alistair told 4BR: "We were looking at how we could help raise more money and the saying, ‘where there’s muck there’s brass’ landed in my head. A week later, we had scored the parts and I’d recorded with the Shepherd band."

He added: "This is the third year that I’ve worked with Marie Curie Cancer Care, and I’ve come up with a whole heap of Yorkshire-related ideas.
