6 year old brass player Jeremy Lloyd has been announced as the second recipient of the National Australia Brass PR Young Performers Award.
Jeremy is a student of Manly Selective Campus in Sydney NSW and a member of the Warringah Concert Brass, North Sydney.
Educational Community Workshops
The NAB–PR award forms part of the Educational program within National Australia Brass and was instigated by NAB Principal Cornet player, Paula Russell in 2009.
As part of the 2011 NAB-PR award, 16 year old Jeremy featured as guest soloist in the premiere of ‘Lone Pine’ by Dwayne Bloomfield performed by National Australia Brass July 9th, 2011.
Jeremy will also be the featured soloist with Warringah Concert Brass and participate in a one week community workshop music program with his performance mentor Mr John Saunders and guest conductor and tutor Professor David King.
John Saunders is Musical Director of the NSW Police Band and conductor of Warringah Concert Brass. John has performed as a member of National Australia Brass since its inception in 2008 and continues to nurture the young talents of Warringah Youth Concert Brass. He has also been Jeremy’s tutor for the past 8 years.

Excellence
Jeremy Lloyd has achieved remarkable success and displayed consistent excellence as a young Australian brass musician and has been NSW State Junior champion on baritone horn for 4 consecutive years 2008-11.
As recent winner of the NAB-PR prize Jeremy was also awarded an Adrienne, Lady Stewart performance bursary in 2011 and currently holds the distinction of winning three major solo titles simultaneously – NSW State / Australian National Junior / Australian National Senior Baritone Champion 2011.
