Listen to the Band:
17th August:

Frank Renton celebrates the musical masterpiece that is the march, and its proud place in brass and military bands.

He finds them in the cinema (John Williams), on the concert platform (Copeland/ Allen), on the parade ground (Sousa) and as heard in the open air as at the Whit Friday competition held annually in Delph.

The programme features classic performances by Black Dyke, The Band of the Grenadier Guards, Foden's, Leyland and The President's own US Marine Band, and begins with ‘Symphony of Marches’ by Gilbert Vinter.
