Prize money increase at Bolsover

The Bolsover Festival of Brass will be paying out an even bigger pot of prize money this year.

Bolsover Festival of Brass is set to raise the amount of money in its prizewinner’s pot this year.

Impressive

A total of £4,175 plus trophies will be paid to the bands that tickle the fancy of the judges at the popular contest being held on 11th September, with the band taking home the Championship Section honours bagging an impressive £750 as well as the usual Inter-County Challenge Trophy.

Top prizes in the other sections are £500, £400, £300 and £250, with the popular Unregistered Section winners also picking up £100.

Contest organiser Carole Crompton told 4BR: "The Festival of Brass is going from strength to strength and as it progresses we would look to increase the prize monies to encourage more bands to enter."

She added: "We are grateful to Mercury Newspapers of Sheffield who have agreed a 3 year sponsorship deal."
