On the first day of Christmas...

Someone just had to be the first....

Fairlop

Fairlop Brass has announced that their first Christmas Concert of 2011 was a great success.

Tinsel

The concert was held on 1st July and saw a packed audience of festive season lovers enjoy plenty of carols, Christmas music and even tinsel decoration.

This concert originated from a flippant remark made by the band’s MD Kevin Jordan last December. The painful decision to cancel the original Christmas Concert was made due to the poor weather, as the car park was under a foot of festive snow!

One of the problems of staging concerts at Christmas is the weather – the only way round this is to hold the concert in the SummerMD, Kevin Jordan

Problems with the weather

Kevin told 4BR: "One of the problems of staging concerts at Christmas is the weather – the only way round this is to hold the concert in the Summer – so from that point the whole thing snowballed, if you excuse the pun!"

The concert was also excellent preparation for the band who this summer are recording their third CD, which will feature Christmas music.
