Coleshill Town Band recently presented their eighth ‘Youth Brass’ concert at their local primary school
Day of music making
The day of music began with members(aged between 6 and 16 performing solos at a recital concert, listened to by their families and members of the senior band.
One highlight was cornet player Daniel Speakman aged 16 performing his own GCSE music composition ‘Rondino’.
Spectacular
After a picnic tea the spectacular finale began with a wonderful half hour performance of music by Coleshill Beginner Brass led by Sally Wood.
That was followed by a spectacular performance by Coleshill Youth Brass under the baton of Stephen Fagg that featured a mixture of wartime themed music previously performed in some of their competition entries and some newer pieces.
After a picnic tea the spectacular finale began with a wonderful half hour performance of music by Coleshill Beginner Brass led by Sally Wood4BR
Presentations
Presentations were made to all members including individual awards to Neve Lawrence and Jake Jerrard –Dinn, Callum Pilkington and Matthew Livingstone, Amy Markley and Jamie Smith.
The day ended with a massed band performance by Coleshill Beginner Brass, Coleshill Youth Brass and Coleshill Town Band of ‘Land of Hope & Glory’ and Abba’s ‘Thank You For the Music’.
