Geneva Instruments can now announce the name of their latest artist to endorse Geneva Instruments and the release of their new model
The 'Rod Franks' Trumpet in honour of the principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra has been greatly assisted by Rod who has helped design an instrument which both Geneva Instruments and Rod believe is set to rival, if not beat the very best in today's market.
Combination
The combination of Tim Oldroyd's experience as a musical instrument manufacturer and Rod Frank's expertise in the field of playing has produced outstanding results.
English Nationals
The trumpet will be exhibited on the Geneva trade stand at the English Nationals Brass Band Championships and Geneva will also be visiting music colleges up and down the country to showcase their latest creation.
Rod Franks had these words to say: "It's a superb trumpet made in Great Britain by Geneva Instruments which I am proud to be involved in the development of and is truly representative of Great British design and engineering. My new trumpet has already been used on the soundtracks of two blockbuster films- the last Harry Potter movie and Thor."
He added: "It is so easy to play in all registers, has lots of musical colours and you have so many options as to how it looks and sounds.
Thrilled
"I’m thrilled with it, and after 22 years helping Yamaha, I have told Tim Oldroyd at Geneva that I think I know how to compete with the big trumpet makers and my students at the Royal Academy of Music [London] think its a superb instrument and is a dead cert to fly off the shelves because of its look, sound and competitive price."
He concluded: "My colleagues in the LSO in many sections have commented on its sound as well as the great conductors Gergiev and Haitink- that’s good enough for me. Watch out Yamaha and Bach... there is a new kid on the block!"
