World Rankings: June Update

Masters win for Tredegar gives Wales the top two spots for the first time ever.

The latest World of Brass – 4barsrest.com Rankings see Tredegar rise to an all-time high second position following its latest chapter in its phenomenal tale of success at the All-England Masters International last weekend, giving Wales the top two spots for the first time ever.

Further high-flyers include Reg Vardy and Kirkintilloch, up 7 and 16 places respectively following their successes at the Spring Festival, while Marsden Silver moves up 21 places as its recent good contesting form continues. Aldbourne, another band that enjoyed its weekend in Blackpool, is the highest new entry into the top 200 at 143.

The next update will follow the English National Championships at the end of June, when Foden’s, Black Dyke, Fairey and Brighouse and Rastrick will all be hoping to make a dent in the current Welsh domination.

November 4 • Concord books their flight to Linz as they claim the Danish crown in Aarhus and section titles go to Frederiksberg Brass Band, Hvidovre Musikskoles Brass Band and FDF Gladsaxe Brass Band.

November 4 • Tom Hutchinson will return to Yorkshire to follow Richard Marshall as principal cornet of Black Dyke Band.

Harlow Brass Band

November 4 • We have vacancies for CORNETS, TROMBONES, 2ND HORN AND PERCUSSION. We are a welcoming, non contesting band who organising their own Spring and Christmas concerts and enjoy playing at local events throughout the year.

November 4 • Our COMMUNITY BANDS next rehearsal is on Monday 10th at 11am and held in our bandroom.. Blowing with us doesn't impact your own band and its free.. We welcome all regardless of ability . Tea and cakes an added bonus.


Banks Brass Band

November 4 • Banks Brass Band, a friendly, non-contesting village band in West Lancashire is looking for players, particularly euphoniums, trombones and basses. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings 8.00-9.30pm in The Hub@Banks Community Centre.
