Doyle set for Scots box

Irvine and Dreghorn Bnd will be hosting their first Annual Slow Melody Contest later this month.

The event will take place on Sunday 29th May, at Irvine’s Volunteer Rooms, and will be judged by Leyland Band’s principal cornet player, John Doyle.

John Doyle will not only adjudicate solo entrants in their slow melody choices, but he will also perform with the band in a concert following the contest.

The contest will start at 3.30pm, and guests can listen to the entrants during the afternoon.
