St Boswells Concert Band in the Scottish Borders has announced the appointment of a new MD in Colin Crozier.

Colin hails from the Scottish Borders and comes to the band with extensive conducting experience in New Zealand.

A spokesperson for the band told 4BR: "We are very enthused by the new musical direction and standards. Additionally resident composer/arrangers John Hind and John Kirk are refuelling the bands library with new and modern works on a weekly basis. Some of which have already been weaved into the current concert repertoire."

Founded in 1860

Founded in 1860, St Boswells Concert Band has never contested in its history and considers itself very much neutral ground and many local players from other surrounding contesting bands already enjoy a Monday evening rehearsal with them.

"The door always open for players to drop in for a blow," the spokesperson added.
