Battle of the Bands

Record entry for the 5th Battle of the Bands, where Dronfield defend their title.

The 5th ICCB Battle of the Band’s entertainment contest will take place on the 26th June at the Speedwell Rooms Staveley near Chesterfield.

There is a record entry list this year with a total of 12 bands competing throughout the day.

The adjudicators will be Derek Renshaw, Martin Thacker and Graeme Challands, whilst there will also be a band representatives from each band marking each performance apart from their own.

Welcome competitors

The day will commence at 10.30am, where the organisers welcome Thurcroft Welfare Training Band who will compete against Long Eaton in the 15 minute entertainment program for the chance to claim the top prize.

Main contest

The main contest will commence at 11.30am, with 10 Third and Fourth Section outfits from the Midlands, Yorkshire and North areas — including Keele University Band who is competing for the first time.

Defending champions Dronfield will also battle against Long Eaton Silver, Newhall, Thurcroft Welfare, Derby Rolls Royce, Ashover, Oughtibridge, Market Rasen and Ripon City.

Tintwistle Band

June 9 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team. . We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm under the baton of our MD Jim Henson, at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
