The National Australia Brass annual winter week programme of workshops and concerts is to be held at St Mary’s Band Club, Sydney July 5th – 10th.

Excellence

Formed in 2008 by its Artistic Director, Professor David King, National Australia Brass draws its key membership from the Federation of Australasian Brass Bands registry and in the past three years has met on eight occasions fostering excellence with some of Australia’s finest community brass musicians.

New Commissions

The 2011 ‘winter week’ continues to develop NAB’s new music policy with the premiere of three new works commissioned for National Australia Brass from the pen of major Australasian composers.

The three new major works are:
‘Mettle on Metal’ – Brenton Broadstock
‘Lamentations on Black Saturday’ – Barry McKimm
‘Lone Pine’ – Dwayne Bloomfield

Concerts

The NAB winter week culminates with two ‘Brass & Voices’ concerts bringing together National Australia Brass and the renowned Sydney Male Choir.

Tickets and further details of the ‘Brass & Voices’ NAB concerts (July 9/10) can be obtained by contacting SMC Secretary, Brian Ellis on email: dbe@tpq.com.au
