Dobcross Silver Band has announced the resignation of conductor Grenville Moore.

Dust off

The banding world is not losing out though, as Grenville has decided to dust off his cornet and start playing again.

Spokesperson James Brooks told 4BR: "The band would like to thank Grenville for all his hard work and dedication over the past three years. He took a shell of a band and helped to build it back up to the competitive, thriving band that it is today."

They added: "Grenville will remain a keen supporter of the band — and anyway, there will be no getting away from us when he and wife Jane move into the village! We wish him the best of luck for the future."
