The death of former Foden’s player has been announced, who passed away following illness, on Sunday 27th February. He was aged 82.
Lifetime in brass
He enjoyed a lifetime in brass bands playing for a number that included Markham Main Colliery, John White Footwear and Mirrlees. His longest and happiest spell was when he joined Foden’s in 1976 at the invitation of James Scott.
His death was announced on the same day that Foden’s secured an unprecedented sixth consecutive win at the North West Regional Contest at Blackpool.

Blossomed
Ken’s first years at Foden’s were on soprano cornet but later his career blossomed when he became a renowned flugel horn player with the band.
After retirement from playing in 1990, he continued to support Foden’s, becoming treasurer and later editor of the band’s newsletter.
Funeral
His funeral is at the Landican Crematorium, Wirral, at 1.30pm on Tuesday 8th March.
