The Chalgrove Band in Oxfordshire has used its new recruits to great effect of late.

Due to bad weather in December they had to reschedule their fund raising concert for Help for Heroes, which then had to take place in January, where the band raised over £500

Experience

The band is delighted to have brought in new players in time for the Third Section London & Southern Counties Area contest in March.

The family team of Dave Hadland and son Chris come in on percussion, daughter Frankie and son Dan on cornet, along with Andy Morrison on Eb bass and Fiona Shearer on tenor trombone.

Hard work

Terry Brotherhood, Musical Director, told 4BR: "I'm delighted we have been able to contribute to this very worthy cause and I really appreciate how all our new players have fitted in and are now working so hard for the areas."
