The Lofthouse 2000 Band has been dishing out its annual gongs.

At their recent sell out Christmas concert, Lofthouse 2000 Band made its annual awards for 2010 honouring its 'Bandsman of the Year', 'Player of the Year', 'Section of the Year', 'Junior Player of the Year' and 'Bandsperson of the Year' as voted by band members.

Awards

The 'Bandsman of the Year' for 2010 went to solo baritone player Janet Reid, for her work on the band’s committee and music library.

The band's MD, Andrew Whitaker, choice of 'Player of the Year' went to flugel player Peter Andrews, whilst the solo cornets won the 'Section of the Year'.

The 'Junior Player of the Year’'was Cameron Huntley, whilst the 'Bandsperson of the Year' went to Eb tuba player David Brown.
