5th European Conductors Competition

There is still time for applicants to register for the 5th European Conductor's competition in Montreux.

EBBA has announced that there is still time for conductors to apply for entry to the 5th European Conductor’s Competition that will take place as part of the 2011 European Brass Band Championships in Montreux in April.

The deadline for registration is January 14th 2011.

Time and dates

The event will take place from 23rd April to 28th 2011, and will consist of two preliminary rounds, a semi-final and a final.

The final will take place in Montreux’s famous Auditorium Stravinski, where the finalists will conduct one of Switzerland’s leading brass bands.

Prizes

There will be prizes of EUR 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000, as well as special awards for the finalists, who will also be given the opportunity to appear as guest conductors with well-known bands in Europe.

All competitors who reach the semi-final will receive a diploma.

Applicants must have been born on or after January 1 1976.
