Llwydcoed end on season high

The Llwydcoed Band has ended the 2010 season on something of a high.

The Llwydcoed Band has ended 2010 on a high with the news that they have gained both domestic and National promotion to the Second Section.

Impressive performances

It follows the band’s impressive performances over the past two year’s, including a 4th place finish at the Lower Section National Finals in Harrogate in September.

As well as a successful domestic contest campaign that saw them crowned Welsh League champion in the Third Section, the band has also increased its local community profile with the forthcoming launch of a new Junior Band in February 2011.

Like all successful outfits, the band put in hours of rehearsal, practice and travelling to make all this possibleChairman, Kevin Johnson

Local community

Band Chairman Kevin Johnson told 4BR: "The local community has played an important part in this achievement and we would like to thank them for their support. Like all successful outfits, the band put in hours of rehearsal, practice and travelling to make all this possible."

Busy year ahead

A busy year lies ahead for the band withy an early season outing at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship in Skegness to look forward to, as well as their second CD launch and a tour to Germany – for a Teutonic version of ‘Brassed Off!

Kevin concluded, "We are not looking to consolidate but to continue to grow as a band. We know if we stand still events will overtake us and we will be left behind."
